Bessatsu Best Car, Car Audio & Car AV Complete Guide.

Car CDs were first released in the mid-1980s by Pioneer, and cassette tapes subsequently fell into obsolescence. They then enjoyed their heyday in the 1990s, so this is a guide book from that era. Audiophiles were ecstatic about installing them themselves, but who would have thought you could listen to high-quality CDs in your car instead of cassette tapes... (As an aside, those cassette tapes are still carefully stored in the back of the garage – for some reason, I can't throw them away). Navigation systems also started to appear around this time, but they were still expensive and in their early stages.

What's interesting about such an old magazine? By learning about the latest equipment of the past, you can re-evaluate the present, or perhaps it's just a feeling of "that generation."
